Visit to Gandhi Research Foundation
Description:
The BCA Department successfully organized an industrial visit for BCA students as part of their experiential learning and industry immersion initiative. This technical field trip was designed to enhance students' understanding of how theoretical concepts are applied in real-world IT environments. The Department of Computer Applications organized an educational field visit for BCA students to Jain Valley – Fruit Juice Processing Plants and the Gandhi Research Foundation as part of their experiential learning and industry exposure program. This initiative aimed to provide students with practical insights into industrial automation, data management in manufacturing, and the application of technology in social and historical research.
Event Objective:
To expose students to the role of IT and digital systems in the food processing industry and explore the use of information systems in cultural and research institutions.
Event Outcome:
Jain Valley – Fruit Juice Plants: Students observed the end-to-end process of fruit juice production, including sorting, processing, quality control, packaging, and distribution. Emphasis was placed on the use of automation technologies such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems, and database-driven inventory management. Gandhi Research Foundation: Students explored how information systems are used to digitally archive historical documents, manage research data, and present interactive exhibits. The visit highlighted the application of multimedia technologies, data digitization, and IT-based knowledge management in a research setting.
