Title: Personal Financial Planning

Description: A guest lecture on “Personal Financial Planning” was organized for the students of the FYMCA department on 14 March 2026 at the institute. The session aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of managing personal finances and making wise investment decisions at an early stage of their careers. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Nishant Ravindra Ghuge, Assistant Professor at KCES's Moolji Jaitha College. Dr. Ghuge is also an alumnus and former faculty member of KCES's Institute of Management & Research, which made the session even more special for the institute. During the session, Dr. Ghuge explained the concept and significance of personal financial planning and emphasized the importance of starting investments at an early stage of life. He highlighted that students and young professionals should develop financial discipline from the beginning of their careers. He advised students not to spend their initial income on unnecessary luxuries or lifestyle show-offs such as purchasing expensive gadgets or high-end products, but instead focus on building a strong financial foundation. Dr. Ghuge also shared valuable insights on the benefits of early investing, explaining that starting early allows individuals to take advantage of long-term growth and better returns. He introduced students to different investment options and financial instruments, including mutual funds, National Pension System (NPS), and Public Provident Fund (PPF). He explained the basic working of these investment avenues and how they can help individuals build savings for future goals such as retirement and financial security. The session was highly informative and interactive. Students actively participated and showed keen interest in understanding the practical aspects of financial planning and investment. The lecture provided students with useful knowledge that will help them make informed financial decisions in the future. Overall, the guest lecture proved to be very beneficial for the MCA students as it enhanced their understanding of financial literacy, investment planning, and responsible financial behavior. The department expressed sincere gratitude to Dr. Nishant Ravindra Ghuge for sharing his valuable time and knowledge with the students.
