Description:
The MCA Induction Program was held over three days, beginning on September 19, 2024, to welcome new students to IMR. Day 1: Inauguration and Welcome The program was inaugurated by Ms. Ankita Kothari, with notable attendees including Director Prof. B. V. Pawar, Head of MCA Mr. Uday Chatur. Mr. Chatur congratulated students on their choice to pursue an MCA, explaining the institute's vision and mission. Dr. Pathak encouraged students to work diligently, while Prof. B. V. Pawar emphasized commitment and active participation in team-building and personality development activities. In the afternoon, Dr. Nilima Patil introduced sports facilities and encouraged student participation in sports. Librarian Mrs. Varsha Zanake informed students about library resources, including books and research materials. And Mr. Prakash Bari introduce student welfare activities held in IMR. The day concluded with a session by Prof. Dr. Varsha M. Pathak, who highlighted research and innovation opportunities at IMR. Day 2: General Institute Policies Mrs. Shweta Fegade led a session on ‘General Institute Bodies’ in IMR. Dr. swapnil Kate were guide students on Autonomous Examination System of the MCA. In the afternoon, Ms. Deepali Kirange were aware students on Mentor- Mentee System. Dr. Shama Saraf, highlighted the skills gap between current student capabilities and industry needs, encouraging students to focus on soft skill for IT Professionals. Day 3: Soft skills and Career opportunities in IT Professionals On the final day, our guest Mr. Dipesh Malani were guided students on career opportunities in IT Professionals. In the afternoon, Dr. Mamta Dahad encourage students on leadership and team building activities. Dr. Anupma Chaudhari aware students on various online courses and their duration. Our guest Mr. Chandrashekar Deshmukh alert students “communication skills- a need”. The program concluded with students sharing their feedback, which was overwhelmingly positive, followed by a vote of thanks from Prof. Ankita Tiwari. Overall, the induction program successfully oriented students towards their academic and professional paths, fostering a sense of community and engagement.
Event Objective:
The objectives of induction program are to help new students feel comfortable in their new environment, and to help them learn about the institution, its culture, and its policies.
Event Outcome:
1. Students gained clarity on the vision and mission of IMR, fostering a strong sense of purpose and direction in their academic journey. 2. Participants learned about various resources, including sports facilities, library materials, and research opportunities, encouraging them to actively engage in extracurricular activities. 3. Through sessions on soft skills and career opportunities, students recognized the importance of personal and professional development, equipping them to navigate the changing IT landscape effectively. 4. Expert talks highlighted the gap between current skills and industry requirements, motivating students to focus on acquiring relevant competencies. 5. The program fostered connections among students, faculty, and staff, creating a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and engagement throughout their MCA journey.
