Description:
The MCA Induction Program was held over three days, beginning on August 28, 2023, to welcome new students to IMR. Day 1: Inauguration and Welcome The program was inaugurated by Ms. Utkarsha Rane, with notable attendees including Director Prof. Dr. Shilpa Bendale, HOD Dr. Tanuja Fegade, and Coordinator Mr. Uday Chatur. Mr. Chatur congratulated students on their choice to pursue an MCA, explaining the institute's vision and mission. Dr. Fegade encouraged students to work diligently, while Prof. Bendale emphasized commitment and active participation in team-building and personality development activities, citing ISRO’s "Chandrayaan 3" as a model of dedication. Dr. Nilima Patil introduced sports facilities and encouraged student participation in sports. Librarian Mrs. Varsha Zanake informed students about library resources, including books and research materials. The day concluded with a session by Prof. Dr. Varsha M. Pathak, who highlighted research and innovation opportunities at IMR. In the afternoon, Prof. Uday Chatur presented the MCA syllabus and course outcomes. Dr. Tushar Chothani, an alumni and soft-skills trainer, conducted a session titled “Passport to Success,” focusing on essential skills for the IT industry. Day 2: Human Values and Industry Insights Prof. S. N. Khan led a session on ‘Human Values’ in professional education, illustrating how to preserve values in the workplace through engaging activities. Prof. Dr. Ram Bhavsar discussed the philosophy behind the MCA syllabus, emphasizing the balance between industry-oriented and core subjects and addressing industry challenges in an entertaining manner. Day 3: Bridging Skills Gap and Networking On the final day, Prof. Dr. Ajay Patil highlighted the skills gap between current student capabilities and industry needs, encouraging students to focus on emerging AI technologies. Prof. Tejas Sonawane introduced the faculty and staff, providing brief profiles. The program concluded with students sharing their feedback, which was overwhelmingly positive, followed by a vote of thanks from Prof. Ankita Tiwari. Overall, the induction program successfully oriented students towards their academic and professional paths, fostering a sense of community and engagement.

The objectives of induction program are to help new students feel comfortable in their new environment, and to help them learn about the institution, its culture, and its policies.
