Description
The Rotary Club is a global network of 1.2 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who come together to make positive, lasting change in communities at home and abroad. The Club's motto is "Service Above Self". COLS is a technique that involves providing timely and effective assistance to victims of sudden cardiac arrest by performing continuous chest compressions until professional help arrives. By doing so, the victim's blood is circulated, and their brain is oxygenated, increasing the chances of survival. During a practical training session on life support techniques, a simulated emergency scenario was created to test the students' ability to respond to critical situations. The scenario involved a patient experiencing cardiac arrest, requiring prompt and coordinated life support measures.
Event Objective
Educate participants about the correct CPR techniques. Enhance participants' confidence and ability to respond to emergency situations effectively.
Event Outcome
The compression of life support event for students was a resounding success. The students demonstrated strong skills in recognizing emergencies, initiating CPR , maintaining effective communication and teamwork, and managing rotation to prevent fatigue. The event highlighted the importance of adequate training and preparation for handling life-threatening situations. By continuously refining their life support skills, these students are better equipped to respond confidently and efficiently in real-life emergency scenarios.
